Michelle completed her medical degree at Western Sydney University and a Master of Medicine in Critical Care, and worked in emergency medicine (including at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital) before moving into general practice. That background gives her a calm, careful approach and a sharp eye for the things that matter.

She enjoys the continuity of family medicine and building long-term relationships with her patients. Dr Gao is on maternity leave from 27 June 2026. A return date has not been confirmed.
